May 17, 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Trinity seniors will perform Thornton Wilder’s, The Matchmaker, on Friday, May 17, at 7:00 p.m. in the Greenlawn Auditorium.
In this charming comedy set in late 19th-century New York, we are introduced to Horace Vandergelder, a wealthy merchant and widower, who, in a quest to find a new wife, enlists the help of matchmaker Dolly Levi. We quickly learn that Dolly has a scheme of her own in mind, and plenty of tricks up her sleeve. While Horace is away in New York City meeting a prospective bride, his two store clerks, Cornelius and Barnaby, also sneak away to the city. While there, they meet Irene Molloy and Minnie Fay—two women who are looking for an adventure of their own. Hilarity ensues as the couples become embroiled in a giant game of hide-and-seek and mistaken identities.
This event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Please enter the school through the front entrance on Greenlawn. The elevator door (to right of the main door) will be unlocked and available for use. If using the elevator, go to the third floor to access the auditorium.
The play will be recorded and shared on our YouTube channel following the event.
