Trinity School at Greenlawn is participating in Give Local Day on May 9! Twelve things to know:

1. We're using this year's Give Local Day to replace our gym floor, which was destroyed in last fall's devastating flood. We've arranged to have the replacement done by Connor Sports Flooring, who has also made floors for the Rio Olympics and the NCAA Final Four.

2. We have received a generous anonymous matching gift challenge of $100,000, and meeting this will give us the funds we need to restore the gym this summer. There are 67 organizations participating in Give Local Day, and our matching gift challenge is tied for the largest this year with one other organization.

3. The Community Foundation will also be distributing $2.4 million to the endowments of participating organizations, based on their donation totals for this year's Give Local Day. We have an opportunity to secure a significant portion of these funds for our endowment, helping us maintain the gym after it is reopened.

4. The minimum gift amount is $25, to be counted toward the matching funds and on the Give Local leaderboard.

5. The online giving window opens on May 1, and you can start scheduling gifts then, though all online gifts will be processed the morning of May 9. Our online giving page is tinyurl.com/TrinityGiveLocal, and we'll post again when it is live to take donations.

6. You may donate by check, dated May 9, and made out to "Community Foundation of St. Joseph County" with "Trinity School at Greenlawn” in the subject line. Checks must be RECEIVED by May 9, and they may be dropped off at the school office.

7. If you are interested in a donation of appreciated stock or an IRA rollover gift, please email John Kurdelak at jkurdelak@trinityschools.org within the next couple days. These take longer to process, so they need to be initiated toward the beginning of the giving window.

8. Those attending Grandparents' Day on May 9 will have an opportunity to donate there.

9. On May 9, there will be Give Local Donation Stations at the John R. Hunt Plaza in front of the Morris Performing Arts Center, at Martin's Supermarket on Ironwood and 23, and at the University Park Mall. We'll post more information about these as the day gets closer.

10. On May 9, you can follow the Leaderboard at GiveLocalsjc.org to keep track of how we and the other participating non-profits are doing.

11. We've already been lining up pledges from many of our generous donors, but we need your help to accomplish our goal.

12. We'll be posting updates on our Facebook page, so please watch for them.

Please plan to support Trinity through Give Local on May 9. We're very grateful for your support, and our athletes are depending on it! #GiveLocalSJC
